I have a passion for aviation that has been present since I was a child growing up 15 minutes away from my local airport in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Coming from a family that seemed to have aviation in their blood, I was fortunate to be surrounded by it on a regular basis.
When it came time for me to select a school to further my education after high school, I had done countless hours of research on all the top aviation schools in the country before selecting Western Michigan University as the place where I would like to earn my Aviation Management degree. My desire for aviation to become a career grew dramatically after starting schooling and diving into the curriculum.
With my summers between college classes being an asset, I spent my summers earning my private license in the summer of 2021 which taught me how to look at an airfield from a pilots perspectivce and also how to navigate an airfield while communicating with the tower.
In the summer of 2022 I worked as a management intern at Laughlin Bullhead International Airport located in Bullhead City, Arizona. This internship taught me more than I ever thought possible about how a commercial service airport operates as well as an insight into the worlds of operations, ARFF, finance, security, maintenance, and administrative work.
In the winter-summer of 2023 I worked at Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport located in my college town of Kalamazoo, Michigan. With the added commercial service flights, snow removal operations, and a much larger airport, I worked closely with all facets of the airport team to ensure smooth operation of both commercial and general aviation aircraft.
